DESCRIPTION
This free tool converts digital elevation models
(DEM) in the GeoTIFF format to STF transmittals.
RELEASE INFORMATION
The current release version of this application is
2.1. This tool is SEDRIS 3.1.2 compliant.
The application is linked statically, and additional
documentation is included in the download. You do not need to download
or install the SEDRIS SDK to use this tool.
FEATURES
This free tool converts digital elevation models
(DEM) in the GeoTIFF format to STF transmittals.
LIMITATIONS
- The application assumes that the GeoTIFF file is
a digital elevation model (DEM), and not an image. Images and imagery are
not processed in this version.
- The application assumes that the input data is in
WGS-84 and in UTM. The software currently can not handle Geodetic or other
georeferenced data.
- The application can handle data with either a NW
or SW origin. Minor changes maybe required to mirror the data along the
vertical axis if it has a SE or NE origin.
- The application handles RTV tiled DEMs and ERDAS
but not stripped DEMs. Other variations of the GeoTIFF format may not be
handled.
- When elevation postings are compiled, the individual
elevation post is referenced to the Northeast corner of the individual
SEDRIS grid cell, instead of the center of the cell. This was done to support
the SEDRIS to CTDB compiler.
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Hardware
- There are only minimal memory and disk requirements.
Software
- SGI, Irix release 6.5
