Graphic of Wind Map application

DESCRIPTION

Meteorological and oceanographic (METOC) data are an integral part of any battlefield environment. Because of this, SEDRIS has the requirement to access, manipulate, and exchange METOC data as part of its data representation and interchange activities. This free tool is METOC data visualization software developed to demonstrate the ability of the SEDRIS transmittal format (STF) to accept and manipulate atmospheric data in the international GRIdded Binary (GRIB) meteorological standard distribution format.

RELEASE INFORMATION

This tool is being updated, since the last working version is several revisions behind the current SEDRIS SDK release.

The application is linked statically, and additional documentation is included in the download. You do not need to download or install the SEDRIS SDK to use this tool.

FEATURES

  • The wind map software reads data into SEDRIS Transmittal Format (STF) from GRIB files (the data may be obtained from the Master Environmental Library (MEL) or some other means).
  • The STF is then read by the SEDRIS Read API, which is used to interactively retrieve the data, and display it using a graphics viewer.
